Lewis County VINELink Release Check

Idaho VINE through VINELink is a notification and status system fed by participating agencies. It is designed for a specific-person search, not as a complete Lewis County release list. Searchers should know the person’s full name and, when available, a booking, case, or IDOC number. A same-name result at an unrelated agency is not a match.

The Lewis County Jail is reported closed in the statewide sheriffs’ directory. A Lewis County arrest may therefore lead to a record held by another jail. Registration must follow the agency that actually booked or housed the person. Call the Lewis County Sheriff first when the custodian is unknown. If the case became an Idaho prison commitment, use IDOC records and the Idaho VINE result tied to that agency.

Search Lewis County VINELink Records

Begin on the Idaho state page, not a similarly named county page from another state. Enter the person’s name and use any available filters. Open the matching record and read the reporting agency before interpreting the status. Lewis County, Missouri and Lewis County, Washington often appear in broad web searches, but neither is an Idaho custody source.

1. Open Idaho in VINELink and choose the person-search function.
2. Enter the full legal name and test a known alternate spelling if needed.
3. Use a reliable identifier or birth information when the interface offers it.
4. Match the reporting agency to the jail identified by Lewis County Sheriff or to IDOC.
5. Read the custody status and event language exactly as displayed.
6. Save the check date and call the reporting agency when “released” leaves the destination unclear.

A result is a lead tied to one provider’s data. Confirm a community release through the actual holding jail’s release record and the Lewis County case in iCourt. A current jail roster is designed to show who remains there, so disappearance alone proves nothing about transfer or release.

Read Lewis County Release Alerts

A released result means the participating agency recorded an exit event using its own wording. It may not reveal whether the person posted bond, completed time, received a court order, transferred to another jail, entered IDOC, or moved to ICE custody. Those outcomes are not interchangeable. Ask the reporting agency for the release type, time, authority, and receiving agency when one exists.

Transfers cause the most common error. Leaving the first jail may trigger an event even though another custodian immediately took control. A transfer to IDOC should be checked in the IDOC search. An ICE handoff belongs in the official ICE locator. A federal sentence belongs in the BOP locator. VINELink is not the federal Bureau of Prisons search and should not be presented as one.

Preserve the time of the notice, reporting agency, and reference information. Do not publish a subscriber’s contact data or PIN. If the alert and agency record seem to conflict, report the narrower fact, such as “VINE showed an event,” until the custodian explains it.

Register Lewis County Release Notices

Registration begins only after the correct person and agency record are selected. The live flow may offer phone, text, or email. Enter and confirm the contact channel, accept the service terms, and keep the confirmation. Phone delivery may use a PIN to acknowledge a notice and protect or manage the registration.

1. Select the verified individual record and choose the notification action.
2. Choose an offered phone, text, or email channel.
3. Enter and confirm the destination without exposing it publicly.
4. Create or retain the requested telephone PIN when the flow requires one.
5. Accept the terms and save the registration confirmation.
6. Update the registration if the person transfers and a new custodian record appears.

Lewis County VINE Data Limits

VINE coverage is agency-fed. The safest statement is that current official evidence supports Idaho VINE for IDOC and that participation by the particular county custodian should be checked live. The local jail closure makes that distinction vital. There is no sound basis for promising that every Lewis County arrest will appear under a Lewis County label.

Data can lag intake, transport, release, or record correction. A negative search may result from a spelling difference, a different holding county, a recent event, a restricted record, or an agency that does not supply that entry. Document it as “not located in Idaho VINE” with the date, criteria, and agency checked. Do not broaden that into “not in custody anywhere.”

When Lewis County Search Fails

Start again with custody identification. Ask the Lewis County Sheriff whether the person was booked for Lewis County, which facility physically held the person, and which agency owns the historical record. Then search the named jail or IDOC rather than repeating a broad name query.

• Verify spelling, aliases, birth year, booking number, case number, and agency number.
• Call the holding facility and ask whether the event was release or transfer.
• Check iCourt for the order or case event that explains departure.
• Check IDOC when the case shows a state commitment or supervision.
• Use BOP or ICE only when the case points to those jurisdictions.

Keep a dated proof packet with the arrest or incident identifier, booking and release entry, court case, and transfer destination. A VINE notice can add timely evidence, but it should be attached to those official records rather than treated as a stand-alone conclusion.

When Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center is identified as the custodian, its official current-custody reports carry their own update warning. The agency says reports update Monday through Thursday, with weekend and holiday items appearing in Monday reports, and that the database may lag. It also says custody can be confirmed only by telephone or in person. That source can help establish who is still held, but it is not a completed Lewis County release archive. For historical records, use the Nez Perce Records Division only when that agency created or holds the entry. Its request process and prosecutor review are separate from VINE notification timing.

If a correction is needed, send it to the custodian that owns the field. Keep the original dated result, explain the disputed item, and attach only the identity evidence needed through the agency’s secure channel. An update in one database may not automatically change VINE, the court docket, or IDOC. Check each source again after the agency responds.
